A walk around Folkestone with Ady Kerry

On Saturday the 23rd of September, a group of members from our club joined local professional editorial and sports photographer Ady Kerry for a walk around Folkestone taking in some of the Folkestone Triennial .

The first place we visited had one of Antony Gormley's life sized cast iron statues of himself placed under Coronation Parade. After this we took a slow walk towards the harbour which provided an opportunity for one of us to try some long exposure shots using a 10 stop Ray Masters filter. As we walked around the quayside we took pictures of another piece of art work, a brightly coloured floating house. Next we wandered over to the newly refurbished harbour arm and stopped for a coffee break during which Ady gave a talk on composition,

As we strolled further along we found another statue placed in the sea beneath the walkway which we all spent some time photographing. Finally we finished our journey at the end of the walkway by the small lighthouse. We all thanked Ady for his time and then went to get something to eat.

For another view on the day's walk and some cracking medium format images, why not visit Ady's Tumbler page here.
